About Us

We are a platform for the sharing and expression of opinions and analyses on anything related to media. We operate as an open forum for people to express their ideas on media in any media format they wish and share it with both the McMaster University community and the rest of the world. This website is managed by the McMaster University club, The Vault Publication. To stay up to date on the latest releases, please like us on Facebook. To get involved or stay up to date on all club activities please send us an email at thevaultpublication@gmail.com.

Below are a few frequently asked questions about the website, along with a description of how to get involved.

FAQ

Do I need to be a good writer to write for the Vault?

Nope! We get this question a lot. We have a team of editors to help in the writing process. If your writing isn’t the greatest, don’t sweat it! We’re here to help.

Does The Vault only deal with opinion pieces?

The purpose of The Vault Publication is to give people a platform to express their ideas on media and share their multimedia works with the world. We will publish anything from op-eds to stories, as long as they’re (at least) loosely related to multimedia.

How do I submit an article to The Vault?

See our submission guidelines here.

What does it mean to be a member of The Vault Publication? What does the club do?

The Vault Publication is a registered McMaster University club that manages the website. Members consist of our team of writers, editors, editor-in-chief, and executives. Being a writer with The Vault Publication does not mean you are required to write or submit any content; you will never be forced to write for the site.

Outside of managing and writing for the website, The Vault Publication team engages in weekly discussion sessions, holds events and watches/plays/reads media together. In this sense, we are both a book club, a website, and a recreational club to share your hobbies/fandoms with like-minded people.

What if I want to write about something other than movies, comics, video games, music, manga, anime, and television?

The list above is not exhaustive. If you have an idea for an article but don’t know if it would belong on The Vault, send us an email.

Can I write for The Vault even if I don’t go to McMaster University?

We accept submissions from anyone! Unfortunately, you can’t join the executive team– but you’re welcome to join us as a member.
